This giant cupcake was done for my cousin's daughter's birthday. The cake had to travel 6 hours but I am glad to say it made it. The cake is red velvet and the cupcake liner was made out of chocolate. The fondant cherry covered in disco dust was just the extra flare the cake needed. ^_^

I got asked to do a groom's cake, Dallas Cowboys themed, to show off in front of his NFC East rival friends. :) The cake was red velvet with cream cheese filling. Yum!
Football was made out of rice krispie treats. My sisters's birthday is coming up and she was having a hard time deciding on what flavor she wants for her cake. So, I did a test cake for her. It gave me an excuse to try out a fun new cake design. The cake is a double chocolate cake with raspberry filling and raspberry buttercream. Needless to say, it was a hit!
Here is a sweet sixteen cake I did for a co-worker's cousin, Isabel. This one was a first for me because it was a tiered buttercream and fondant details. I have done tiered but not buttercream. I didn't have as many issues as I though I would but then again I had my mom, the buttercream queen help me out a lot. Thanks mom! The sweet 16 colors were Turquoise and white with some purple. And her invitations had butterflies on them. I while back I took a class for gelatin butterflies and bows and knew when I found out there were butterflies on her invitations I wanted to do the gelatin ones (they seem more real then fondant ones to me) for the cake. Isabel also wanted zebra pattern on her cake. The sweet sixteen butterfly cake
Love the Xbox cake but is it too much cake for you? Here is an alternative, Xbox game cakes.
My dad wanted an ice cream cake for father's day so here I was the day before father's day trying to figure out how to do an ice cream cake. This is my first attempt at it and i got to give me props it came out pretty good. It is made with chocolate cake and mint chocolate chip ice cream. Covered in vanilla buttercream with cookie crumbs and chocolate drizzle. This is what it looks like when it was cut open. It was super yummy! My cousin wanted a zebra pattern on her birthday cake (the pink & black birthday cake) and I though it would be awesome if I could do a zebra pattern in the bread of the cake as well. So after attempting this pattern I decided to scrap it and just go regular because I was unsure how it would look after cut. Well after finishing her cake and getting real curious of how the inside of the scraped cake looked I cut it. TADA! It actually worked! It looked like a zebra pattern! Oh how I do regret not doing a cake like this for her. Oh well, now I know. :) This weekend I did 2 birthday cakes for 2 different people and oddly enough they wanted just about the same kind of decorations. They both wanted the color palette to be black, pink and white, with zebra stripes and their name on the cake. This first cake was for my cousin, Yazmin, she turned 19 and wanted zebra, and cheetah print on her cake topped with a bow. I made her draw her cake out the way she wanted it. This is what she drew, well I did make a few changes but needles to say she LOVED it! :) This cake was done for a co-workers mom who was celebrating her 50th birthday. |
