Pulled sugar flower

This was my first time every playing with isomalt. This has been something I have been wanting to do for a very long time, and at the cake show I recently went to they had hands on demos. I was super excited for this!

 I got to blow sugar! I ended up making 2 blown sugar balls and the first one broke while I put it in my box to take home and the second one broke on the way home. I was upset but glad I got to experience it! As for my flower it did take some technique but I got it. The isomalt wasn't as hot as I though it was gong to be when working with it but then I was double gloved. Oh and I did break out a sweat. The heat lamps that keeps the isomalt pliable but out a lot of heat and the area was hot. If you got the right equipment I say give it a try. I did end up buying isomalt sticks and a mould but I still need to get my heat lamp and area to work in to really get down and dirty with the sugar.
