A while back I volunteered my services to the Family Place for a fundraiser and someone wanted to redeemed their buttercream cake vouture. The customer wanted a Celtics cake for her son's birthday. I was excited to try a new technique, a frozen buttercream transfer. After watching several instructional videos (it looked easy enough) I decided to give it a try. This was a lot harder then I thought but in the I loved the way it came out. Nice to say this is it all buttercream. :)

This is my second Barbie cake. I'm glad I got to do another one of these because there were some new techniques I wanted to try. I love the way this one came out! I did have trouble with the wings being so big. Since my barbie dress was big they prevented the wings from stick flush on the barbie. I had to do some cutting and trimming to the back of the dress to get the wings to fit perfectly. In the end I got it to work out and love the result! Bottom tier was buttercream with fondant details.
October isn't only Breast Cancer Awareness month but it is also Domestic Violence Awareness month which does seem to get overlooked. I am sure I have mentioned this many times but one more time won't hurt, my sister works as a children's counselor at the Family Place. I made Domestic Violence Awareness cupcakes just to make sure they knew they weren't being overlooked. Don't worry Breast Cancer Awareness your cupcake is coming up too! :) These are chocolate cupcakes with buttercream frosting and fondant ribbon toppers. Enjoy!
