I have been sick for about a week but now I'm back and ready for my daily dose of sugar.
Check out my Orange Choco cupcakes with orange cream cheese frosting. My inspiration, the milk orange chocolate and my daddy. Happy St. Patrick's Day you guys! In the spirit of this festive green holiday I decided to make some cake pops and cupcake bites. ENJOY!
My my my, it has been a long night but in the end I have prevailed. I am proud to say the xbox 360 cake is DONE! I could have not pulled if off by my self, with that being said, thank you boyfriend for helping me and taking over when I just about had it. :) Xbox 360 cake. Tada! Even though this seems to be an easy cake for the most part to do (besides all the detail) I must admit I did learn something very valuable from the cake. Never and I do repeat, NEVER ice a cake and stick it in the freezer over night and fondant it the next day with out letting it come to room temperature. It makes the fondant wet, sticky and when it started to dry it begins to crack because my cake was expanding.
Moral: Don't expect an easy looking cake to be easy because cakes do fight back! OR Don't forget you left your cake in the freezer. It's sundays and I wanted to have a little fun, so I made smiley face cake pops. You just cant help but smile back when you see these guys smiling. A simple smile can do so much good!
It's late, I am exhausted and the kitchen is a mess but before I clean and call it a night I had to share my latest creation with you guys. Introducing Selina's first ever Ice Cream Cone Cake Pops! :) This was my first time and I have been wanting to do these for a while but never really had to till today. A co-worker wanted some cake pops for her niece's birthday and gave me free range on the style. So, I was thinking, why not make it fun (regular pops can be so boring at times). I have seen these on Bakerella's website and thought these would be perfect to try out. Low and behold my creating of Ice Cream Cone Cake Pops! Mmmmmm :) Oh yea, my pictures were taken with my phone so excuse the poor quality. I have seemed to have misplaced my memory card for my camera so till I find it my cell phone will just have to do. Take 2 on a different version on the Ice Cream Cone Cake Pops! Mmmmmm ♥ (This picture was not taken with my cell phone) Yay! I found my memory card for my camera just in time to take pictures of my different version of Ice Cream Cone Cake Pops.
Now, off to control my happy mess in the kitchen then to bed. ![]() So as I mentioned earlier last week I was going to take a gum paste flower class. It was 2 days of intense hardcore flower making . . . and I enjoyed every bit of it! I fell in love with the flowers we made in class and I am seriously thinking of going to Georgia to take some more of Nick's classes! Here is me and Nicholas, the sugarcraft guru. Here are my flowers. Can I get a woot woot! LOL! If there are any questions you may have about these flowers or others feel free to ask me and I will try to answer them to the best of my ability. I hope to get the time and try to put some tutorials up on how these were made.
![]() I am super excited about tomorrow. Tomorrow I have a class with the well known Nicholas Lodge, one of the top notch instructors in sugarcraft. Nick will be focusing on gumpaste flowers witch is good for me since I only know how to make carnations out of fondant. Lol. |
