I got an inquiry to make a Christian Louboutin shoe box cake and heel. I was a bit scared the heel wouldn't come out like the actual heel she sent me because it had been a long while since I've done a heel and I had recently got a new mold and wasn't to sure how to use it. I did end up having to re-do the heel just because it wasn't to my satisfaction. The second one I loved and actually wanted to keep it for display. Look at all that BLING!

I have been wanting to take a class on how to make heels out of gum paste but all the classes here in Dallas have the shoes looking small and stumpy. I was looking to make a realistic sexy shoe. I ending up looking though Nicholas Lodge's website and saw some sexy stilettos out of gum paste done by an amazing Roxanne Moore aka the cake engineer. Once I saw her shoes I knew I had to go to Georgia to take her class. I contacted her and begged her to come to Dallas and she told me in 3 weeks she was going to Austin to teach a class. Well, then and there I signed my mom (I needed a driving buddy) and I for the class. Here is Roxanne and I. Of course I have to show off my favorite heel. We did 2 shoes in the class. This is shoe 1. And now for my favorite shoe . . . Oh how I wish I had a pair like this! LOL. :)
Verenice was the receiver of the wonderful graduation cake! She is a high school graduate who was in cosmetology. The cake, chocolate, her favorite. Accessories on the cake include, scissors, comb, nail polish, nail file, eye shadow and brush and lipstick and even an edible picture of the graduate herself. All completely edible! Congratulations on your graduation Verenice! So as I mentioned earlier last week I was going to take a gum paste flower class. It was 2 days of intense hardcore flower making . . . and I enjoyed every bit of it! I fell in love with the flowers we made in class and I am seriously thinking of going to Georgia to take some more of Nick's classes! Here is me and Nicholas, the sugarcraft guru. Here are my flowers. Can I get a woot woot! LOL! If there are any questions you may have about these flowers or others feel free to ask me and I will try to answer them to the best of my ability. I hope to get the time and try to put some tutorials up on how these were made.
