A co-worker asked me to do cupcakes and cake cones for her son's birthday. As you can guess he loves dinosaurs so I made these cute cupcake toppers for the cupcakes and made the cake cones into dinosaur eggs. Here are my cake cone. I tried to make it represent a dinosaur egg.
What do you think? Success? My tia Lourdes celebrated her 50th birthday on halloween eve and came up with this design for her cake. This is her design brought to life. Pumpkin cake with maple pecan filling and buttercream frosting with fondant and chocolate details.
I did a really last minute de los muertos cake for a couple celebrating their court wedding. They were pleased, hopefully I can do their actual wedding too. Fingers crossed. :)
A while back I volunteered my services to the Family Place for a fundraiser and someone wanted to redeemed their buttercream cake vouture. The customer wanted a Celtics cake for her son's birthday. I was excited to try a new technique, a frozen buttercream transfer. After watching several instructional videos (it looked easy enough) I decided to give it a try. This was a lot harder then I thought but in the I loved the way it came out. Nice to say this is it all buttercream. :)
This is my second Barbie cake. I'm glad I got to do another one of these because there were some new techniques I wanted to try. I love the way this one came out! I did have trouble with the wings being so big. Since my barbie dress was big they prevented the wings from stick flush on the barbie. I had to do some cutting and trimming to the back of the dress to get the wings to fit perfectly. In the end I got it to work out and love the result! Bottom tier was buttercream with fondant details.
October isn't only Breast Cancer Awareness month but it is also Domestic Violence Awareness month which does seem to get overlooked. I am sure I have mentioned this many times but one more time won't hurt, my sister works as a children's counselor at the Family Place. I made Domestic Violence Awareness cupcakes just to make sure they knew they weren't being overlooked. Don't worry Breast Cancer Awareness your cupcake is coming up too! :) These are chocolate cupcakes with buttercream frosting and fondant ribbon toppers. Enjoy!
I did this cake for 2 lovely ladies (mother & daughter) celebrating their birthday together. They gave me full range on this cake since they had no idea what they wanted. I figured what better way to celebrate a birthday than with a slice of birthday cake. ^_^ The chocolate cake was vanilla with buttercream and the yellow cake was pineapple with buttercream. All edible including the cherries on top of the cake slices (excluding the cherry stem). What a wonderful colorful birthday cake. Happy birthday again ladies. I made this cake for my cousin Amanda's birthday. She loves candies and her favorites happen to be Kit-Kats and M&Ms, so I wanted to find a way to incorporate these two candies into the cake design. My family is pretty big so I had to make two of these cakes just to ensure everyone got a piece. I also made mini cupcakes with the birthday girl's name for a personal touch. If you love candies as much as my family does you will love this cake, very colorful and yummy. |
