This weekend I did 2 birthday cakes for 2 different people and oddly enough they wanted just about the same kind of decorations. They both wanted the color palette to be black, pink and white, with zebra stripes and their name on the cake. This first cake was for my cousin, Yazmin, she turned 19 and wanted zebra, and cheetah print on her cake topped with a bow. I made her draw her cake out the way she wanted it. This is what she drew, well I did make a few changes but needles to say she LOVED it! :) This cake was done for a co-workers mom who was celebrating her 50th birthday.

There was a grand opening of a restaurant today, Tres Mexican Restaurant, and I made cupcakes to celebrate. And it being a mexican restaurant what better way to top the cupcakes then with a chile. :) Aren't they spicy . . . lol Verenice was the receiver of the wonderful graduation cake! She is a high school graduate who was in cosmetology. The cake, chocolate, her favorite. Accessories on the cake include, scissors, comb, nail polish, nail file, eye shadow and brush and lipstick and even an edible picture of the graduate herself. All completely edible! Congratulations on your graduation Verenice! I did these for my boyfriend's cousin who graduated from high school and didn't really want a cake but did want something. So, I came up with the idea to make graduation cake pops. (Ok, ok I wanted to do these before but everyone wanted cakes.) Cake pops were his favorite flavor strawberry with a chocolate graduation cap and fondant tassel. Finished off with fondant eyes and mouth. Oscar Guzman, the graduate. :) Aren't these just cute? |
